The invention relates to a thermal vegetation control method in which a liquid medium heated for the purposes of the procedure is applied as a heat carrier (41) to the vegetation (40) to be controlled. The heat carrier is applied as a liquid in the form of a coherent, at least largely coherent stream and thus in a non-disseminated or substantially non-disseminated form from an application device, flowing out unpressurized or substantially unpressurized. The invention further relates to a device (1) for thermal vegetation control. Said device comprises an application apparatus having at least one outlet (3) for dispensing a heat carrier and at least one outlet (4) for dispensing foam to form a temporary thermal insulation. The foam outlet (4) is arranged in relation to the heat carrier outlet such that the dispensed foam can be laid over the heat carrier to be dispensed in the operating direction of the application apparatus. The at least one heat carrier outlet is designed as a discharge port for allowing the heat carrier to flow out in the form of a coherent, at least largely coherent stream and thus in a non-disseminated form or substantially non-disseminated form as a liquid. Said discharge port is connected to a pipe (29) to which liquid can be supplied.
