PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely supply lubricating oil to the surfaces of teeth without forming streaks for holding the lubricating oil on a face gear part in the master gear of a spinning reel.
SOLUTION: This master gear 11 for transmitting the rotation of a handle freely rotatably mounted on the reel body of the spinning reel to a pinion gear 12 is provided by having a disc part and the face gear part 11b. The disc part can rotate with a handle shaft as one unit. The face gear part 11b includes a plurality of gear teeth 11c formed on the outer circumferential side of one side surface of the disc part by having an interval in circumferential direction, and a groove parts 11e for lubrication, formed at the bottom parts of the teeth 11d of the plurality of the gear teeth 11c by having a width W1 wider than the width W2 of the bottom parts of the teeth 11d.
