PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a threshing chamber of a combine harvester, that is, to shorten the whole length of the combine harvester with a threshing cylinder effectively applying a threshing action while maintaining an excellent backward feeding action of grain stalks.SOLUTION: The threshing cylinder (40) rotatably mounted in the threshing chamber (5) is formed in polygonal column shape. Each flat surface part (44f) on the outer periphery of the threshing cylinder (40) is protrusively provided with feed plates (48) inclining relative to the rotating direction (A) of the threshing cylinder (40), and each ridgeline part (44y) formed between the respective flat surface parts (44f) on the outer periphery of the threshing cylinder (40) is protrusively provided with rod-like threshing teeth (47a) or plate-like threshing teeth (47b) at suitable spaces.
