The present invention provides a process for the preparation of detoxified karanja seed meal which is one of the major ingredients in poultry feed. The said process results in feed grade oilseed meal from karanja rich in protein around 25% and oil less than 0.5%. Various anti-nutrients, such as tannins, phytates, protease inhibitors and saponins are removed up to 60-80% thus improving the nutritional quality of the feed.
