PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dermoscope that can switch mutually between a state enabling observation and imaging of skin surface and a state enabling observation and imaging of the inside of the skin with simple configuration and operation, and provide a method for using the same.SOLUTION: A dermoscope relating to the invention comprises: a housing that includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface； an optical lens that is provided in the housing； a first light source that emits light outward from the first surface side of the housing； a second light source that emits light outward from the second surface side of the housing； and a polarization filter that polarizes the light emitted from the second light source. The dermoscope observes or images a skin surface facing the first surface, through the optical lens, while the first light source emits the light and the light is not polarized by the polarization filter, and it observes or images the inside of the surface skin facing the second surface, through the optical lens, while the second light source emits the light and the light is polarized by the polarization filter.
