PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably prevent a twining phenomenon of twining a fishing line around a handle shaft.SOLUTION: There is provided a fishing reel including: a driving gear 17 frictionally coupled through a braking member to the handle shaft 7 a spool 6 rotated and driven with driving force from the driving gear 17 and a braking force regulator 20 screwed onto the handle shaft 7. The braking member is pressed by rotating operation of the braking force regulator 20, and changing the frictional coupling force of the driving gear 17 to thereby regulate the braking force of the spool 6.
