The invention relates to antidiabetic medications which are suitable in thetreatment or prevention of one or moreconditions selected from type 1 diabetes mellitus, type 2 diabetes mellitus,impaired glucose tolerance and hyperglycemia, interalia. In addition the present invention relates to methods for preventing ortreating of metabolic disorders and related conditions.The medication is a mono treatment with a DPP-4 inhibitor <； preferablylinagliptin >； or a combination treatment with a DPP-4inhibitor ans a second and/or third antidiabetic.
