FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: collector (C) for a milking machine comprises a housing having an upper part (1) and a lower part (2), and an enclosed inner space (3) for milk flow during the milking operation. The lower part (2) comprises a lower surface (4) facing the inner space (3), in which the central axis (x) passes through the housing and through the upper part (1) and the lower surface (4). The upper part has an upper wall (16) extending along the cone (k), which is rotationally symmetrical around the central axis (x). The collector includes an outlet nipple (12) made with the possibility to be connected to a long milk pipeline (13) for discharging milk from the inner space (3) and extending outward from the upper housing part (1). The suction tube (20) comprises a lower tube section (20a) located in close proximity to the bottom surface (4) and at least three support legs (21) emerging from the lower tube section (20a) and adjacent to the bottom surface (4). A gap is formed between the lower tube section (20a) and the bottom surface (4). Each said support leg (21) has an end point located in the common lower plane (p').
