The present invention pertains to an ophthalmic lens which is selected from the group consisting of an intraocular lens, a contact lens and a corneal implant lens, having a baseline diopter power for far vision correction, the ophthalmic lens comprising a central zone configured for near vision, wherein the vision correction power varies progressively and continuously from the baseline diopter power at the optical axis to an apex and then decreases continuously and progressively from the apex back to the baseline diopter power at a periphery; characterized in that the apex is closer, in terms of radial distance, to the optical axis than to the periphery.
