PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject information acquisition apparatus having a simple configuration and comprising a detector in which a plurality of ultrasonic transducers are disposed, in order to solve such a problem that in a conventional subject information acquisition apparatus using a detector in which a plurality of ultrasonic transducers are disposed, the number of pieces of wiring and a mounting area are increased, and a large-size scanning actuator is required since mechanical resistance increases according to the number of pieces of wiring for scanning the detector, and thus power consumption and noise also increase.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition apparatus comprises: a plurality of elements 21 for converting an acoustic wave from a subject into an analog signal； a support 20 for supporting the plurality of elements 21 so as to form a high-sensitivity area； a scanning part for moving the position of the support 20 with respect to the subject； data collection parts 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d which comprise data conversion parts for receiving analog signals from the plurality of elements 21 and converting these into digital signals, and have a certain positional relation with the support 20； and a signal processing part for acquiring characteristic information of the subject using the digital signals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
