A method and system (100) for noninvasive tissue treatment are disclosed. Anexemplary method and treatment system are configured for the imaging,monitoring, and thermal injury to treat tissue regions (106), such as, forexample, the SMAS region, photoaged tissue, acne and sebaceous glands, and/orsweat glands. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, the exemplary methodand system are configured for treating the tissue region by first, imaging ofthe region of interest for localization of the treatment area and surroundingstructures, second, delivery of ultrasound energy at a depth, distribution,timing, and energy level to achieve the desired therapeutic effect, and thirdto monitor the treatment area before, during, and after therapy to plan andassess the results and/or provide feedback.
