Device for measuring hair damage comprising a handle (2) and a shaft (3) and a mandrel, a clip (4) and a feedback indicator, wherein the mandrel and clip are attachable to the shaft and the mandrel is drivable along the length of the shaft to measure the friction of a lock of hair which is wound around the mandrel and back onto itself and held in place by the clip such that fibres in the lock of hair are rubbed against themselves along the general direction of the hair fibres and use of such a device.Linvention concerne un dispositif pour mesurer la dégradation des cheveux, ce dispositif comprenant un manche (2), une tige (3) et un mandrin, une pince (4) et un indicateur pour un retour dinformation, le mandrin et la pince pouvant se fixer à la tige et le mandrin pouvant être déplacé sur toute la longueur de la tige pour mesurer le frottement dune mèche de cheveux qui est enroulée autour du mandrin et sur elle-même et maintenue en place par la pince de telle façon que les fibres dans la mèche de cheveux soient frottées contre elles-mêmes dans la direction générale des fibres de cheveux.
