PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a distal end of an endoscope in a desired direction by easily achieving such a state that the distal end of the endoscope is connected to a guide member led to the outside even in environment such as the interior of the pericardium.SOLUTION: An endoscope system 1 includes: an endoscope having an elongated insertion section 4 an elongated guide member 3 disposed outside the endoscope and a sheath 2 having a first channel 2a into which the guide member 3 is penetrated, and a second channel 2b into which the insertion section 4 is penetrated. The sheath 2 includes, at the tip end, a positioning part 6 by which the guide member 3 is disposed in front of the second channel 2b in a positioned state. The insertion section 4 includes, at the distal end, a connection part 4b that, when the insertion section 4 is pushed out from the second channel 2b, is connected to the guide member 3 positioned by the positioning part 6.
