PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a means for rotating a disc having a plurality of prisms arranged thereto as the referent light path length scanning means of an OCT apparatus is difficult in miniaturization, balance adjustment is required and an optical system is complicated and, in a means for speeding up the data aquirement by the optical scanner arranged on the side of a specimen, the quantity of the signal light from the specimen is little in the sector scanning of irradiation light and the optical scanner is weak against an impact or vibration and expensive.
SOLUTION: The OCT apparatus easy to manufacture, low in cost, strong against an impact, small in size and excellent in vibration noise reducing capacity is constituted so that the reference light path length scanning means linearly and continuously moves an optical element reciprocally along the optical axis of a reference light path by a linear motor or a mechanism for converting the rotation of the motor to linear motion.
