A DUAL-BEARING REEL SPEED CHANGE OPERATION MECHANISM IS CONFIGURED FOR A USER TO SWITCH TRANSMISSION SPEED FROM ROTATION OF A HANDLE (4) TO A SPOOL (3) AT EITHER A FIRST SPEED OR A SECOND SPEED. THE DUAL-BEARING SPEED CHANGE OPERATION MECHANISM INCLUDES A HANDLE (4) A HANDLE SHAFT (5), AN OPERATING SHAFT (22), AN OPERATING SHAFT URGING MEMBER, A BASE MEMBER (71), A LOCK MEMBER (70), AND A LOCK MEMBER URGING MEMBER. THE HANDLE ARM (4A) INCLUDES A FIRST THROUGH HOLE (4C) PENETRATING THERETHROUGH IN A DIRECTION INTERSECTING WITH A LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION OF THE HANDLE ARM (4A), AND A FIRST PROTRUSION (4D) PROTRUDING FROM THE HANDLE ARM (4A) AWAY FROM THE SPOOL (3). THE BASE MEMBER (71) FORMED IN A PLATE SHAPE. THE BASE MEMBER (71) IS CONFIGURED ON A FRONT SURFACE OF THE HANDLE ARM (4A). THE BASE MEMBER (71) INCLUDES A THIRD THROUGH HOLE (71A) COMMUNICATING WITH THE FIRST THROUGH HOLE (4C), AND A FOURTH THROUGH HOLE (71B) IN WHICH THE FIRST PROTRUSION (4D) IS INSERTED. (FIG. 2)
