A walking support apparatus 2 supports the walking movement of a walking person 4. The walking person 4 may be an elderly person, a disabled person, an invalid, an athlete, a learner, or the like. A measurement unit 10 measures walking information with respect to the walking person 4, and generates data S2 that represents the walking information. An attachment 20 applies an action to the arm of the walking person 4 according to the walking information data S2 measured by the measurement unit 10. Such an arrangement provides improved walking movement via the effect on the arm movement when the walking person 4 is walking.
