The present invention is directed to a method of simultaneously treatinghypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, apro-inflammatory state, a pro-coagulative state, and insulin resistance (withor without treating obesity or endothelial dysfunction),associated with or independent from Metabolic Syndrome, as well as vasculardisease such as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, orperipheral vascular disease comprising the step of administering to a patientsuffering from such disorders a therapeutically effectiveamount of a central acting dopamine agonist. In one embodiment, the centralacting dopamine agonist is bromocriptine, optionallycombined with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
