The present invention relates to the use of nanodiamonds as drugs generating free radicals, in particular for treating tumours. The invention is based on generating free radicals on the surface of the nanodiamonds when they are exposed to radiation, for example ionising radiation. In order to increase the effectiveness of the nanodiamonds, same can be complexed with a radiosensitising agent, such as a chemical molecule or an interfering RNA targeting a repairing gene.La présente invention porte sur l'utilisation de nanodiamants comme médicaments générateurs de radicaux libres, en particulier pour traiter des tumeurs. Cette invention repose sur la génération de radicaux libres à la surface des nanodiamants lorsqu'ils sont soumis à un rayonnement, par exemple un rayonnement ionisant. Afin d'accroître l'efficacité des nanodiamants, ces derniers peuvent être complexés à un radiosensibilisant, tel qu'une molécule chimique ou un ARN interférant visant un gène réparateur.
