The present invention provides an apparatus that covers an inner chamber of a pot that contains at least one plant and soil. The cover prevents an animal, such as a cat, from entering into the pot and disturbing or killing the plant. The apparatus is used in pots that comprises an inner chamber for housing at least one plant and soil. The apparatus comprises a top edge that defines an aperture for receiving a portion of the at least one plant and a bottom edge that is engageable with an inner surface wall of the pot at an intersection with an upper surface of the soil. The cover extends between the top edge and the bottom edge and the cover is positionable to enclose at least a portion of the inner chamber.
