Aspects of the transdermal compositions include a matrix of the propynylaminoindan in a pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a carboxylated polymer comprising &ndashCOOH functional groups. In some instances, the matrix further includes a weak base that may be a cationic acrylic copolymer. Also provided are methods of using the transdermal compositions and kits containing the transdermal compositions. The transdermal composition may be used to treat Parkinson&rsquos disease, Alzheimer&rsquos disease, a memory disorder or stroke. The carboxylated polymer may be a acrylate-vinyl acetate copolymer.
