The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing N-terminal truncated ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1 (NT-UCH-L1) as an active ingredient for preventing and treating Parkinson's disease. Particularly, since the NT-UCH-L1, eleven amino acids in N-terminal of UCH-L1 are eliminated, is located in mitochondria, having a role in regulation of stress inducing reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial damage, thereby being used as an active ingredient for preventing and treating Parkinson's disease.본 발명은 N-말단이 제거된 유비퀴틴 C-말단 가수분해효소-L1(N-terminal Truncated Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1)을 유효성분으로 포함하는 파킨슨병 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로, UCH-L1의 N-말단의 11개 아미노산이 제거된 N-말단 제거된 유비퀴틴 C-말단 가수분해효소-L1(N-terminal Truncated Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1, NT-UCH-L1)이 미토콘드리아에 위치함으로써, 활성산소종 및 미토콘드리아 손상을 유도하는 스트레스의 조절에서 주요한 역할을 하는 것을 확인하였으므로, 이를 파킨슨병 예방 및 치료용 조성물의 유효성분으로 이용할 수 있다.
