PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of collecting a plurality of MR (magnetic resonance) images different in contrast with proper image quality in a shorter imaging time, in imaging by the VFA (variable flip angle) method for collecting MR signals by changing an FA (flip angle).SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a data collection means and an image generation means. The data collection means collects a signal series of the magnetic resonance signals from a subject by a spin echo method repeatedly applying a refocus pulse while changing the flip angle following an excitation pulse.
