A breast prosthesis is formed byproviding a core of iow density foam, shaping thecore in the general form of a breast, and applyingan outer layer of resilient skin to an outer side ofthe core to substantially resemble a breast. Theinner side of the core opposite the outer side isshaped for mating engagement with a user. A pluralityof interchangeable covers of flexible materialare each arranged to releasably span the inner sideof the core. Typically, colouring is provided on theouter side to resemble an areola of the breast and aprotrusion arranged to resemble a nipple of thebreast is releasably adhered to the outer side atvarious positions relative to the areola.
