PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope enhancing the quality of an observation image obtained from an examination target region by suppressing mixing between leakage light caused by illumination light in a distal end part of a light guide and observation light.SOLUTION: An endoscope shielding light leakage from a light guide fiber includes: an image fiber 3 disposed thereinside a cylindrical refractive index distribution type objective lens 5 disposed in a distal end part of the image fiber 3 and the light guide fiber 2 disposed on the peripheral side of the image fiber 3 and the objective lens 5.
