An absorption body comprising longitudinally ex¬ tending edges is disposed between the liquid-permeable casing layer and the substantially liquid-impermeable backside layer. The article comprises a lon¬ gitudinally extending centre line, a crotch area, a front end area and a back area. The absorption body comprises a first absorption layer provided to be arranged towards the user during use and a second absorption layer provid¬ ed to be arranged away from the user during use. The liquid-permeable cas¬ ing layer and the backside layer extend outside the longitudinally running edges of the absorption body. At least one elastic element is disposed be- tween the liquid-permeable casing layer and the backside layer outside of the respective longitudinally running edge of the absorption body. The elastic el¬ ements have a return force between 0.30 N and 0.80 N at an extension of 70% of the accessible extension according to the described test method. The first absorption layer comprises a first longitudinal opening disposed in the crotch area and the second absorption layer comprises a first longitudinal compression disposed in the crotch area.
