A pharmaceutical composition comprising (i) a therapeutically effective amount of an inhibitor of the oncogene SLC29A2； and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, for use in suppressing proliferation, occurrence, and metastasis of cancer cells over-expressing the oncogene SLC29A2 in a cancer patient, and/or prolonging cancer patient survival. The inhibitor of the oncogene SLC29A2 may be at least one selected from the group consisting of dipyridamole, dilazep, draflzine, nitorbenzylthioinosine, and the derivatives thereof. The composition for use may further comprise sorafenib for the same use.
