PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for fumigating a fumigant insecticide capable of certainly beginning smoking, bringing the time to the beginning of smoking to 10-30 seconds which are most suitable to a user and a fugacity rate of the insecticide component to &ge70%.SOLUTION: This method for fumigating a fumigant insecticide is to house a fuming insecticide bag which is a bag made of a synthetic resin film in which a powdery insecticidal composition consisting of 2-20 wt.% insecticidal component, 75-97 wt.% azodicarbonamide which is an organic foaming agent and one or more specifies selected from zinc oxide and zinc carbonate in 1-5 wt.% are enclosed, in a recessed part of a fumigant cylindrical body having the formed recessed part for housing the aforesaid fuming insecticide bag on the top of the cylindrical body and a substantially closed inside space in the cylindrical body, subsequently feed water to a hydro-exothermic material filled in the inside space of the aforesaid fuming cylindrical body and begin fumigating within 10-30 seconds after feeding water to bring the fumigant to attain a fugacity rate of the insecticide component in a high level of &ge70%.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 簡便かつ燻煙の開始が確実で、しかも燻煙開始までの時間を使用者にとって最も適当な10~30秒とし、更に殺虫成分の揮散率が常に70%以上になるような燻煙殺虫剤の燻煙方法の提供。【課題の解決手段】 合成樹脂製フィルム袋に、殺虫成分を2~20重量%と、有機発泡剤のアゾジカルボンアミドを75~97重量%と、酸化亜鉛及び炭酸亜鉛から選ばれた1種又は2種を1~5重量%含有する粉状の殺虫剤組成物が封入された燻煙殺虫剤袋を、筒体の上部に該燻煙殺虫剤袋の収納のための凹部が形成されかつ筒体の内部空間が実質閉鎖されている燻煙筒体の前記凹部に収納し、次いで該燻煙筒体の内部空間に充填された加水発熱物質に給水することにより、燻煙を給水後10~30秒以内に開始せしめ、しかも該燻煙を殺虫成分の揮散率が70%以上の高水準に達するものとした燻煙殺虫剤の燻煙方法。
