The present disclosure is related to the pharmaceutical industry in general and the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry for the treatment of diabetes and its complications. The advantages of the present invention with respect to state-of-the-art compositions, lies in that the present invention allows reducing both glycemia and micro and macro-vascular complications of the disease which are responsible in most cases of premature deaths from diabetes. The composition is formed by an antidiabetic and an antioxidant agent. The antidiabetic agent is metformin, while the antioxidant agent is Resveratrol. The metformin is present in the composition in an amount between 500 - 3000 mg, while resveratrol in an amount between 100 - 3000 mg. The combination may have any physical or pharmaceutical form.La presente invención está relacionada con la industria farmacéutica en general y con la industria de la manufactura de productos farmacéuticos para el tratamiento de diabetes y sus complicaciones. Las ventajas de la presente invención con respecto de las composiciones del estado de la técnica radica en que la presente hace posible además de una reducción de la glicemia, una disminución de las complicaciones micro y macrovasculares de la enfermedad, que son responsables en la mayoría de los casos de las muertes prematuras por diabetes. La composición está formada por un agente antidiabético y una agente antioxidante. El agente antidiabético es la metformina, mientras que el agente antioxidante es el resveratrol. La metformina se encuentra en la composición en una cantidad entre 500 y 3000 mg y el resveratrol entre 100 y 3000 mg. La combinación puede tener cualquier forma física o farmacéutica.
