The present invention relates to a splint and to a method used for obtaining optimal planning of the dental implant surgery and/or guided placement of prostheses on implants, wherein said splint has marker elements (1) of the position of the future pieces and a spatial reference system (3) such that once it is removeably fixed to the upper (4) and/or lower (5) jaw of the patient, both a radiological examination and a scan of the mouth of the patient are carried out with the aim of obtaining a number of digital files which, once aligned, provide a three-dimensional digital image of the mouth of the patient most similar to reality so that, based on this, the prosthetist or prosthetic surgeon can carry out the implantological planning.
