The portable cleaning device (10) has a filling- and supply hopper (12) with an opening (13) on a bottom side (14), from which the field crops reach for cleaning. A housing is provided with a cleaning area (20), in which the field crops are cleaned. A conveying device (18) has a conveyor strip (16), where a brushing unit (26) is provided to remove and separate the soil on the field crops. The conveyor strip or a portion of the conveyor strip are inclined in an acute angle for movement of the field crops against the gravitation force.
