PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which can remarkably promote the production of genistein, daidzein, and equol.SOLUTION: A production promotion composition for genistein, daidzein, and equol contains a cellooligosaccharide which is formed of 2-10 glucose linked together by &bgr；-1,4 bond or derivative thereof, preferably cellobiose or derivative thereof, as a main component. There are also provided a food and drink, and a drug containing the composition. The production of genistein, daidzein, and equol with actions such as preventive and therapeutic effect of osteoporosis, bone-density increasing action, preventive effect of breast cancer and prostatic cancer, cholesterol-lowering action, and immune boosting action can be promoted.
