PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of certainly erecting pleat parts accompanied by work for developing the absorbent article from a folded state without requiring special work for erecting the pleat parts and capable of certainly preventing the absorbent article from being mounted in a state that the pleat parts are allowed to lie.SOLUTION: The absorbent article 10 is delivered in a state that the left and right folding parts 111 of an absorbent article body 11 are superposed one upon another on the skin surface side of the intermediate parts 112 thereof, and the folding parts 111 are developed at the time of use. The left and right pleat parts 12 are provided so that the end parts on both sides in the longitudinal direction Y thereof are jointed to the intermediate parts 112 by pleat end jointing parts in a state allowed to inwardly lie on the internal side in the lateral direction X thereof. Left and right temporary joining parts 16 respectively temporarily joint the surfaces on the skin surface side of the erected parts 121 of the left and right inwardly laid pleat parts 12 and the surfaces on the skin surface side of the left and right folding parts 111 so as to release the jointing of both surfaces in a state that the left and right folding parts 111 are folded.
