A sterilizing cabinet performs a method of processing a medical device, suchas a used medicaldevice or an otherwise non-sterile medical device. The method includesreceiving input from auser selecting a sterilization cycle from a plurality of availablesterilization cycles. Thesterilizing cabinet identifies a biological indicator associated with theselected sterilization cycle.The sterilizing cabinet prompts the user via a touch screen display to placethe medical deviceand the biological indicator into a sterilization chamber of a sterilizingcabinet. The sterilizingcabinet performs load conditioning on the medical device in the sterilizationchamber. Thesterilizing cabinet then performs the selected sterilization cycle on themedical device in thesterilization chamber after completing the act of load conditioning.
