A system offering simplified bi-directional video communication between a userand a device ofa pre-configured one or more persons of interest includes a touch display witha pictorialrepresentation of each of the one or more persons of interest and a pictorialrepresentation of oneor more health indicators. The touch display is configured to establish the bi-directional videocommunication with a selected one of said persons of interest in response to asingle touch of thepictorial representation of the selected one of the persons of interest. Inone implementation, thesystem includes one or more biometric telemetry devices for acquiring andtransmitting biometricdata associated with a specific health indicator to the touch display, whichis then transmitted to adatabase, processed and accessed by one or more authorized persons. In anotherimplementation,the system includes a workflow engine for healthcare management of thepatient.
