PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin excellent in smoothing rough skin, antiseptic properties and stability of emulsified products.SOLUTION: Disclosed is an external preparation for skin which contains an emulsion containing glycyrrhetic acid, at least one selected from the group consisting of astaxanthin and astaxanthin derivative, and an antiseptic whose I/O value is 1.5 or less, and which has no alkyl group or a straight chain or branched alkyl group with alkyl chain length of 5, and which contains no ethanol or ethanol whose content is 1% or less.【課題】荒れ肌抑制、防腐性、及び乳化物安定性に優れた皮膚外用剤の提供。【解決手段】グリチルレチン酸を含む乳化物と、アスタキサンチン及びアスタキサンチン誘導体からなる群から選択される少なくとも１つと、Ｉ／Ｏ値が１．５以下であり、かつ、アルキル基を有さないか又はアルキル鎖長が５以下であり直鎖若しくは分岐のアルキル基を有する防腐剤と、を含有し、エタノールを含有しないか又はエタノールの含有量が１質量％以下である皮膚外用剤。【選択図】なし
