NOVEL ECO-FRIENDLY FORMULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF TERMITE AND FUNGUS PROOF WOOD AND BAMBOO WITH HIGHER TENSILE STRENGTH AND LONGER FUNCTIONAL LIFE
A number of cost effective and eco-friendly formulations were devised for the treatment of wood and bamboo to provide them better tensile strength and longer self life by making them termite and fungus proof as well as increasing their bulk density and water resistance. The formulation composed of boric acid, maleic anhydride solution, copper acetate, dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate, diethyldithiocarbamate, kaolinite, and kerosene oil gives better self life to woods and bamboos by making them termite and fungus proof as well as enhanced bulk density, tensile strength and water resistance.
