The present invention discloses the effect of the use of pyrimidinolic antioxidants on plant propagation material. Said antioxidants are useful in the treatment of propagating plant material and increases their resistance to situations that induce oxidative stress, reflected by an increase in biomass. Said antioxidants characterizes by being powerful and resistant to environmental conditions, being an important tool for the production of seedlings with improved properties.La presente invención describe el efecto del uso de antioxidantes pirimidinólicos en material vegetal de propagación. El uso de estos antioxidantes en el tratamiento de material vegetal de propagación aumenta su resistencia a situaciones que inducen el estrés oxidativo. El aumento de resistencia al estrés oxidativo se ve reflejado por un aumento de biomasa del material vegetal de propagación tratado con respecto al no tratado. El uso de antioxidantes, como los aquí descritos, potentes y resistentes a las condiciones ambientales puede ser una herramienta importante para la producción de plántulas con características mejoradas.
