2-((3-(4-cyanonaphthalen-1-yl)pyridin-4-yl)thio)-2-methylpropanoic acid is useful in the modulation of blood or serum uric acid levels. In some embodiments, 2-((3-(4-cyanonaphthalen-1-yl)pyridin-4-yl)thio)-2-methylpropanoic acid is used in the treatment or prevention of disorders related to aberrant levels of uric acid. In some embodiments, 2-((3-(4-cyanonaphthalen-1-yl)pyridin-4-yl)thio)-2-methylpropanoic acid is used for reducing serum uric acid levels in a human.
