An energy-activatable material for use in the treatment of a sebaceous gland disorder, in which a) said energy-activatable material is a chromophore, suitable for administration to the opening to the infundibulum or to a pilosebaceous unit and is activated by a species of energy that penetrates the outer layers of the epidermis, and in which b) said energy-activatable material is composed in such a way that when administered topically to a section of the skin, a sufficient amount of said material infiltrates the spaces around of the infundibulum and selectively concentrates around said infundibulum or infiltrates the pilosebaceous unit, and in which c) said treatment is the topical administration of said energy-activatable material to a section of the skin affected by a sebaceous gland disorder and exposure of the skin section to pulsed energy characterized by a density in ergetic not exceeding 100 J / cm2, which causes said material to be activated photothermally to effectively treat a sebaceous gland disorder with minimal destruction or no destruction of adjacent normal epidermal and dermal structures.Un material activable mediante energía para uso en el tratamiento de un trastorno de las glándulas sebáceas, en que a) dicho material activable mediante energía es un cromóforo, adecuado para su administración a la abertura al infundíbulo o a una unidad pilosebácea y se activa mediante una especie de energía que penetra en las capas exteriores de la epidermis, y en que b) dicho material activable mediante energía está compuesto de tal manera que al administrarlo por vía tópica a una sección de la piel, una cantidad suficiente de dicho material infiltra los espacios alrededor del infundíbulo y se concentra selectivamente alrededor de dicho infundíbulo o infiltra la unidad pilosebácea, y en que c) dicho tratamiento es la administración por vía tópica de dicho material activable mediante energía a una sección de la piel afectada por un trastorno de las glándulas sebácea
