It is arranged that when an action of demounting a portable recording medium is detected (Step S103: Yes) during a recording operation (Step S101: Yes), an alarming means is activated, before the actual demounting of the portable recording medium, to issue, to the user, an alarm to the effect that the demounting action should not be done (Step S105). In this way, the portable recording medium can be prevented from erroneously being demounted during the recording operation, thereby preventing the body cavity image data from being lost and also preventing the portable recording medium from being damaged.
