The present invention relates to a compacted powder consisting of4-[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-6-{[4-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1-oxo -2-buten-1-yl]amino}-7-((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy)-quinazoline dimaleate (BIBW 2992 dimaleate)and optionallyup to 1.0% of a lubricant, wherein: the powder is obtained by a rollercompaction step and atleast one sieving step after compaction, optionally in mixture with thelubricant in an amountof 0 to 1.0 % calculated on the amount of BIBW 2992 dimaleate by weight； andthe powderhas a particle size distribution of x10 <； 200 µm, 1µm <； x50 <； 300 µm,75 µm <； x90<； 600 µm.
