PURPOSE: A make-up cosmetic composition containing silica-capsulated pigment is provided to enhance skin transparency and to match ferric oxide with skin tone. CONSTITUTION: A makeup cosmetic composition contains 1-10 wt% of silica-capsulated pigments, 10-45 wt% of oil phase, and 30-60 wt% of aqueous phase. The cosmetic composition further contains 0.01-5 wt% of water soluble inorganic thickener. The pigment contains ferric oxide, titanium dioxide, or a mixture of both. The oil phase is cyclomethicone, sorbitanisostearate, dimethicone, cyclomethicone/dimethicone crosspolymers, phenyldimethicone, octylmethoxy cinnamate, PEG-8 dimethicone, or PEG-10 dimethicone. The aqueous phase contains emulsifier, desiccant, and purified water. The emulsifier includes glycerine or butylene glycol. The cosmetic composition also contains one or more among polymethylmethacrylate as a binder and talc as a white pigment.
