PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizer able to evenly heat a to-be sterilized object for avoiding its insufficient sterilization, and also to evenly cool the to-be sterilized object.SOLUTION: A sterilizer 1 includes a treatment tank 2 storing both a to-be sterilized object 3 and water. The stored water in the tank is circulated by a circulator 4 and also heated by a heater (a steam supply means) 5 to heat and sterilize the to-be sterilized object 3. The circulator 4 takes out water from the circulation water outlet ports 2b, 2d of the treatment tank 2 and returns the water to the circulation water outlet ports 2a, 2c of the treatment tank 2 by the operation of the circulation pump 6.
