The present invention is directed to a novel saccharide composition isolatedfrom a yeast culture. The invention isalso directed to yeast cell based saccharide composition with increased water-solubility. The saccharide compositions disclosed inthe invention can be used as nutritional or pharmaceutical additives or aspart of nutritional or pharmaceutical composition in orderto promote the health of an animal or human subject to which said compositionis administered. The invention is also directed tomethods of producing said saccharide compositions.
