PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which, a middle high part which serves as a ridge part is hardly folded and bent, due to compression force from both legs to inside of a width direction in a sleeping posture, which can maintain fitness to a body of a wearer, and liquid leakage hardly occurs.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 comprises an absorbent core 41 which has a vertically long length. The absorbent core 41 comprises a middle high part 43 on a center part in a lateral direction of an excretion part facing part. The middle high part 43 has thickness thicker than that of a peripheral area 44 of the absorbent core 41, and has a basis weight higher than that of the peripheral area. The absorbent core 41 has a groove part 45 which has thickness thinner than that of the peripheral area 44, and which has a basis weight lower than that of the peripheral area 44.
