A flying insect trapping apparatus is capable of attracting and trapping flying insects such as flies or wasps very well. The flying insect trapping apparatus comprises a trap container (1) formed in its inside with a trap chamber (2) communicating with an entry port (7), the entry port (7) being provided in the lower part of said trap container (1). The apparatus comprises an attractive and inductive member (10) having a vertical surface portion (10a) being a pendant attractive plate (10) and suspended through the entry port (7) of the trap container (1), whereby a flying insect is attracted by the member (10) to land on the surface portion (10a) thereof and then is induced to move along the surface portion (10a) and to pass through said entry port (7) so as to be trapped in the inside of the trap chamber (2).
