The present invention relates to peptides capable of forming gels and their use in tissue engineering and bioprinting. The invention further relates to gels comprising the peptides of the invention, methods of preparing such gels, and uses of such gels. In one embodiment, such gel is a hydrogel. The invention further relates to a wound dressing or wound healing agent comprising the gel of the invention and a surgical implant or stent comprising a peptide scaffold formed by the gel of the invention.
