PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorization body capable of absorbing and removing odors generated in a living space such as a room or a vehicle, converting acetaldehyde to little harmful acetic acid at a normal temperature and demonstrating a sterilization or mildewproof effect to the deodorization body itself and dust or the like deposited on the deodorization body by the acetic acid, while the service life of an antibacterial and mildewproof agent is limited since it is consumed and maintenance or replacement of the whole deodorization body is needed once a year in the conventional deodorization body (such as a deodorization filter) in which the antibacterial and milderproof agent is mixed.
SOLUTION: The harmful acetaldehyde generated in the living space such as a room or a vehicle and included especially in cigarettes or the like is converted to the acetic acid at the normal temperature by an oxidation catalyst whose main component is Co3O4, and thus the deodorization body 1 with the sterilization or mildewproof effect is realized.
