Disclosed herein is a method for treating in a non-human animal a lymphoma selected from peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL), diffuse large B-cell, marginal zone lymphoma, and Hodgkins nodular sclerosis, comprising administering a compound having a structure of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the variables are defined in the specification. In one embodiment, formula (I) represents L-(+)-2-amino-3-(dimethylarsino)thio-3-methylbutanoic acid.
