The balloon catheter of the present invention comprises a troubled axis (10) and one- mandrel (12). Between these and the transition section 15 is located , in which the guide wire lumen (17) and projecting in the lateral direction . In order to enhance the stiffness and resistance to buckling , the transition section 15 includes a wire coil (20) consisting of a winding disposed adjacent to each other .
